The text of the middle school level dictation

THE IMMORALIST

It was a place full of shadow and light; quiet, and which seemed sheltered from time; full of silences, and quivers, light sound of the water flowing, watering the palm trees, and from tree to tree fleeing, discreet call of doves, song of a flute played by a child. He looked after a herd of goats; he was sitting, almost naked, on the trunk of a fallen palm tree.
