What is The Last of Us Part II?
Developed by Naughty Dog, The Last of Us Part II is the sequel to The Last of Us first of the name, the adaptation of which is currently broadcast in France on Amazon Prime. Especially since Naughty Dog succeeds in the feat of deepening its post-apocalyptic story, and reusing the themes that were the strength of the first part, without betraying the DNA of the story. By adding a few ingredients to the recipe for the first, the American studio weakens its structure and makes The Last of Us Part II a decidedly darker work. By going much further in cruelty and violence, this sequel definitely breaks the glamor of a post-apocalyptic world to focus on the survivors of a humanity of which there is not much left. Incredibly accurate for some, much too dark for others, The Last of Us Part II divides the players by its script, anything but agreed.
Is this promotion on the game interesting?
Less than €30 is an excellent price and therefore a bargain. For this second part, Naughty Dog pushes the staging to the last limits of what a video game can offer today. It’s simple, there is no better than The Last of Us II in terms of achievement. The writing of the characters and the direction of actors are of an incredible accuracy. The time of the Uncanny Valley seems far away. The border between cinema and video games is clearly diminishing. Despite everything, the realism and the cruelty of certain scenes can sometimes be one-upmanship, but in no way spoil the story.
Finally, graphically, the play of light and shadow is magnificent and contributes to immersion. The sets are believable and the impression of surveying a world in ruins is present. The few novelties of gameplay, such as dodging, are significant and allow the action to be less rigid. The game might have deserved to be shorter, especially in its last third. But the experience is clearly worth the trip.
