Didier Raoult reframes David Pujadas: "You have a deep problem": Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Didier Raoult does not like the media and never misses an opportunity to make this known. Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the 68-year-old infectiologist was the exceptional guest of David Pujadas on LCI. The opportunity for him to respond to the many controversies it has aroused since the coronavirus appeared in Europe. After yet another provocation to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, the defender of hydroxychloroquine attacked his interlocutor and more generally the Parisian journalists who, according to him, were incompetent in the media treatment of the pandemic.

Didier Raoult puts David Pujadas in his place

"Paris today looks very much like 18th century Versailles. These kinds of whispers, babble, excitement: 'What happened, the Marquise said this, maybe the king slept with so-and-so.' It is a microcosm that is disconnected from what is happening in the rest of the world. This is how I see it and how I perceive it", first let go of Professor Didier Raoult. And he didn't stop there."I think you have a deep problem. You don't have the level of performance in scientific analysis that you probably have in political analysis", he continued.

David Pujadas then somehow tried to defend himself. "I'm not a Parisian, you know"the journalist said before Didier Raoult cut him off."I think there are very good political journalists, but in scientific analysis, I can see that you do not use the tools that allow you to know who plays in the first division, who is international and who is not, replied the director of the Marseille IHU. And so this is a problem that you have […] You are more competent at evaluating footballers than at evaluating scientists."A biting point that left David Pujadas speechless.
