For many music fans, a summer without festivals is a lost summer. Due to the corona crisis, all major open airs in Germany had to be canceled this year. So also the two sold-out twin festivals Rock im Park (RiP) and Rock am Ring (RaR), which would have taken place on the first weekend in June. Die Toten Hosen ("Days like this"), which should have appeared as one of the headliners, don't want to let their fans down and stream two of their festival appearances.
"If you can't come to the concerts, the concerts will come to you!" Says a post on the official Instagram account of the German punk icons. The band will stream two "of the best evenings" in their RaR history on their YouTube page in full length. "On Friday, June 5th we will show our concert from 2004 and on Saturday, June 6th the concert from 2008 will follow (unforgettable: Campino with a leg in plaster!)", Says the band around singer Campino (57). The concerts will be shown at the "regular performance time at 9:00 pm as a premiere".
Festival feeling for the living room
Since the "RaR weekend" is also something very special for the band, Campino and Co. also have a little candy on offer: They will join in the live chat with the fans during the stream. With this campaign you want to at least bring a little rock-on-the-ring feeling into your living room. "Keep the beer cold and warn your neighbors!"
