Diego Maradona: renewed concern for Argentina's football icon

A few days after his 60th birthday, Diego Maradona is in the hospital. However, his family doctor says it is "not an emergency".

Diego Maradona (60) is in a hospital in La Plata. "Diego is fine, but it could be better," said his family doctor Leopoldo Luque on Argentine television. Argentina's football icon should stay in the clinic until he gets better. But there is "no emergency", Luque said in an interview with "ESPN F90". The hospital stay has nothing to do with Covid-19, everything else is speculation.

Luque also told the television station TyC Sports that "a difficult week" was behind Maradona and that it had affected his psyche.

Due to the corona pandemic, the 60-year-old should come into contact with as few people as possible. He followed the first game of his club Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata after the Corona break on October 30, his 60th, from home. But he was briefly in the stadium before kick-off to receive congratulations and presents for his birthday. Diego Maradona has had to struggle with health problems again and again in recent years.
