Dieter Bohlen and Pietro Lombardi are not only a good team in the “DSDS” jury. The two have also been close friends privately for years.
The “DSDS” dream duo is back: Dieter Bohlen (68) and Pietro Lombardi (30) are back on the jury together in the upcoming anniversary season. The joy of both is great, after all, the musicians have been close friends for years, even away from the talent show. “We have a lot in common, we are always there for each other, no matter what phase in life, that’s what true friendship is all about,” enthuses Lombardi in his latest Instagram post.
Their “bromance” dates back to 2011. At that time, Lombardi entered the sacred “DSDS” halls as a candidate. Bohlen thought he was talented from the start: “At the time, I was pretty much the only one on the jury who recognized that,” he said at “DSDS”. His protégé eventually won the eighth season.
Before the time came, Lombardi fell in love with his comrade-in-arms Sarah Engels (29) during the recall. Both made it to the final and performed as a newlyweds. If they actually get married, Bohlen promised at the time to buy the wedding rings. In 2013 the time had come: According to RTL, the pop titan kept his word and financed the rings. Engels and Lombardi divorced again in 2019.

However, this did not detract from his friendship with Bohlen. After his “DSDS” victory, Lombardi sat next to his friend behind the jury desk in 2019 and 2020. In the two seasons together, viewers got plenty of entertaining “bromance” moments.
“Dieter and I love each other,” said the 30-year-old singer about his friendship with Bohlen. In the 2019 recall, the two competed during a tennis match. Lombardi admired Bohlen: “He’s four times as fit as me […]. He pulled me off in tennis,” he said. “I don’t think we can be separated anymore.” The viewers wished for the mutual teasing during the show.

Last year, Lombardi was even allowed to visit the cult musician at home. This privilege is denied to most. In addition to his holiday home in Mallorca, he lives with his girlfriend Carina Walz (38) and their children in a suburb of Hamburg. The visit of his “best friend” shared Bohlen on his Instagram account. In the video, the man from Cologne is visibly impressed by the Bohlen residence.

In addition, the young singer received another very special honor. Bohlen reinterpreted the Modern Talking hit “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” from 1998 with Lombardi and Katja Krasavice (26). The song was only released this year.
