After almost 20 years, Dieter Bohlen resigns from the "DSDS" jury. His chair in "Das Supertalent" also becomes vacant.

A bang in "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" and "Das Supertalent": Pop titan Dieter Bohlen (67, "Dieter – The Film") leaves the juries of both casting formats, as RTL announced in a press release on Thursday (March 11th) .

Last "DSDS" episode with Dieter Bohlen on April 3rd

From the upcoming 19th "DSDS" season, which will be broadcast on RTL and TVNow from January 2022, the former Modern Talking singer will hand over the jury scepter "to strong successors who will be announced in time for the coming season". For the last time, Bohlen will be seen as chief judge at the grand finale of the current 18th season on April 3.

In addition to "DSDS", the 67-year-old is also leaving the jury for the program "Das Supertalent". As early as the coming autumn, the show will "lure in front of the screens with new jurors and spectacular acts" as part of the 15th season, it is said.

"The right time for change and further development" has come

RTL entertainment director Kai Sturm expressly thanked the current jury and especially Dieter Bohlen as a long-time chief juror. "With clear judgments and a keen sense for musical mainstream in the best sense of the word" he was "significantly involved in the long-term success of both shows. After almost two decades of mutual success, now is the right time for change and further development."

Dieter Bohlen has been part of the casting jury since the premiere of "DSDS" in 2002. In "Das Supertalent" he has also judged since season one, which flickered on the screens in 2007, about the existing or non-existing talent of the candidates.
