“DSDS” surprises in the farewell season with good ratings. Will returnee Dieter Bohlen soon have his own RTL show?

The return of Dieter Bohlen (68) as chief judge of his RTL cult show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (also on RTL+) drew some rumors from the first moment. Will it really stay with the final farewell season or will the private broadcaster perhaps still reverse the role with strong ratings? Now the “Bild” newspaper is also rising involved in this speculation and announced: Bohlen will get his own show on the station if the “DSDS” ratings continue to develop as well as they have since the start of the 20th season. This was learned from broadcaster circles.

On Saturday, too, 2.5 million viewers tuned in to the castings for the third episode, on Wednesday it was 2.39 million and at least 3.05 million at the start. Solid numbers – and significantly more than the 19th season without Dieter Bohlen and with Florian Silbereisen (41) as his replacement. So after “DSDS” for Dieter Bohlen on RTL it’s far from over? On Sunday evening, Bohlen speaks to Frauke Ludowig (59) about his successful comeback so far. According to “Bild” information, he also raves about the fact that everyone at the station is happy about the start of the season.

Florian Silbereisen followed Dieter Bohlen, and Dieter Bohlen again followed Florian Silbereisen

“Deutschland sucht den Superstar” has been on RTL since 2002 and is an offshoot of the British show “Pop Idol”. Dieter Bohlen was part of the jury from the start, but was kicked out after 18 seasons in 2021. As part of a makeover, Schlagerstar Silbereisen should follow in the footsteps of pop legend Bohlen. But even the exchange on the chief jury post did not help the odds out of the low. Therefore, it was decided to return Bohlen and a final farewell season. After 20 issues, “DSDS” is likely to be history in a few weeks.
