difference of more than 70 euros between Brittany and Ile-de-France

In 2022, in France, insuring a house costs 260 euros per year on average against 180 euros for an apartment. On the other hand, the place of your residence causes the amount billed to fluctuate greatly.

Over the past 10 years, home insurance premiums have increased by 33% under the pressure of claims related to natural disasters. And in 2022, in France, it costs 216 euros per year on average, according to the annual study (1) of the comparator Assurland.com. In detail, the coverage of a house costs 260 euros and that of an apartment 180 euros/year. A stable amount compared to 2021 but that must be understood taking into account the strong regional disparities identified. Thus, Brittany is the least expensive region of France (171 euros per year) to provide housing. Why? Because the number of declared claims remains very low as in Pays de la Loire (178 euros) and Burgundy France-Comt (180 euros) which complete the podium. Nevertheless, there too the increases are significant: from 18% to 22%.

Home insurance on the rise in 2022

The increase in the amount of property insured, the number of burglaries (up sharply from 2010 to 2013) and climatic events have led to a 33% increase in home insurance premiums in ten years. In this context, staying loyal to your insurer is not a good calculation. Going around the market every eighteen to twenty-four months makes it possible to find more interesting offers, explains Olivier Moustacakis, co-founder of Assurland.com.
