The current “difficult market situation” in the entire bicycle industry is also affecting the company. The restructuring program is intended to secure the long-term future of Flyer AG.

Those responsible see the job cuts as an “unavoidable business step in order to secure the economic foundations and international competitiveness of Flyer AG sustainably and in the long term,” as the statement goes on to say. The job cuts were announced on September 5th. The company does not provide any further information, as a spokeswoman for Flyer AG told the Keystone-SDA news agency upon request.
As early as mid-September, the “Berner Zeitung” and “Der Bund” reported on an examination of job cuts. At that time they quoted from an internal company letter to employees: “Demand has been falling since the end of last year. We’re talking about halving sales and orders within two years.”
