DECRYPTION – Despite slightly lower hiring intentions, tensions in the executive market should not weaken in the months to come.

It’s been going on for more than two years and yet, from quarter to quarter, the momentum is only getting stronger. Between April and June, 82% of companies say they have encountered difficulties in recruiting executives, according to a study published on Monday by the Association for the Employment of Executives (Apec). A record level and a leap of 13 points in three months. “These difficulties in recruiting today represent a real threat to the economic development of companies”, breathes Gilles Gateau, the CEO of Apec.

And no trend reversal is to be expected. On the contrary, 84% of employers admit that it will be difficult to recruit in the third quarter, i.e. 30 points more than compared to September 2020. Unheard of and enough to portend a complicated end to the year.
