Digimon Survive: Video gives a first look at the gameplay


The Digimon brand has been delighting fans in the form of manga, anime and games for more than 20 years now. With Digimon Survive, a new video game will be released soon and you can now sweeten the waiting time with the first gameplay material.

Digimon fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming visual novel video game with survival strategy RPG elements. That sounds extensive and that’s why the game didn’t appear in 2019 as planned, but will only be available from summer 2022. Numerous cutscenes await you for example, how your Digimon develop depends on your decisions and what ending you will see.

As part of South Korea’s Rulicon 2022 trade show, Digimon Survive producer Kazumasa Habu spoke about the upcoming game and also presented a video showing a few minutes of gameplay. You can see how to place the pieces and how to use certain positions to your advantage, for example with certain attacks. Additionally, Habu showcases both the 3D animations that make up a large part of the game and the classic 2D SRPG style in which battles are fought.

When exactly is Digimon Survive coming out?

This mix of strategy and RPG follows a group of teenagers who get lost during a school camping trip and find themselves in a strange new world full of monsters and danger.

You can follow her story soon, because Digimon Survive will be released on July 29th for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
