The days go by and look sadly similar in the video game industry lately. In fact, the developer of Warframe, Digital Extremes, announced that it had made the decision to close its publishing division. News which not only means the cessation of external projects but also the dismissal of several employees of the company.

“We confirm that we have made the difficult decision to cease operations of our external projects division. As a result, we had to say goodbye to a number of team members despite their hard work and value. »

Digital Extremes press release

Digital Extremes has not yet wished to communicate on the number of employees impacted by the job cuts. Likewise, no reason was given to explain the studio’s choice to cease its publishing activities. However, it was clarified in the company’s press release that the publication of the action RPG Wayfinder will no longer be the business of Digital Extremes. Full control of ownership of the title will return to its developer Airship Syndicate in the coming months. News that the studio
Wayfinder has not yet commented publicly.

With this closure and this wave of layoffs, Digital Extremes joins the already far too long list of studios marked by heavy job losses this year. We remind you that in addition to the 800 jobs lost at Epic Games, many studios have had to go through some form of restructuring in recent weeks.
