To strengthen its healthcare vertical, the La Poste group has set its sights on the operator happytal, which has been working since 2013 in the digitization of the hospital pathway for patients and healthcare personnel.
La Poste has accumulated a number of services in the health sector since 2017, ranging from remote monitoring of patients with chronic diseases to the implementation of postal services to deliver medicines, via its specialized subsidiaries such as Asten Santé and Nouveal, for cite just two.
On the other hand, happytal claims specialization in all activities before, during and after hospitalization. For example, the company offers software solutions that allow patients to make pre-admission requests or individual room reservations online, and healthcare establishments to automate requests for support from complementary organisations.
Happytal has also designed a concierge service so that patients, caregivers and healthcare personnel have “access to more products, services, and benefit from a better quality of life at work”, specifies a press release.
Better interconnected services
Currently present in more than 130 French hospitals, happytal has joined La Poste’s “health and autonomy” division to become “the sole operator of interconnected hospital services”.
“This new brick of activity is part of La Poste’s diversification policy in the field of health. Today, La Banque Postale is the leading bank financier of public hospitals and La Poste already generates 700 million euros in turnover in health services (logistics, data, home health services and telemonitoring). Our ambition is to exceed one billion very quickly with services that are useful to health establishments and professionals and to patients, ”said Philippe Dorge, deputy general manager of the La Poste group in charge of the Services-Mail-Parcels branch, quoted in the press release.
“The aging of the French population leads to growing needs for healthcare services, in hospitals and at home. As the majority shareholder of happytal, La Poste is at the service of healthcare professionals and establishments with the aim of facilitating the pathways and support of patients before, during and after their hospitalization,” he added.
