The Federal Ministry of Health commissions, among other things, the US company IBM to develop a vaccination pass app.

The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) would like to commission a vaccination verification app from the US company IBM. The ministry had confirmed that to "tagesschau.de". Accordingly, Ubirch from Cologne and Bechtle from Neckarsulm, among others, should also work on the project. SAP and Deutsche Telekom, who are responsible for the Corona warning app, should not be involved.

According to the tender, the app should be developed within two months and then be ready for use. It is planned that users will be able to generate a code that enables a "data protection-compliant check of the Covid-19 vaccination status by third parties". The name of the vaccinated person, the time of vaccination and the vaccine used should be saved.

Ubirch boss Stephan Noller explained to the "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" that the system should be developed "as quickly as possible" and that it should be ready for use throughout Germany.
