How to catch animals and/or birds on Dinkum?
Possess the appropriate license
You probably already know this, but for catch animals on Dinkum, it is necessary to have a specific license. This is the Trapping License, the in-game description of which reads as follows: allows the holder [de la licence] make and use animal traps and collection points. Successfully deposited pets unlock rewards “.
If you haven’t unlocked said license yet, you can visit Fletch in his tent and purchase it. Note that the first level of Trapping license costs 500 Permit Points.
Craft a trap and collection point
Once you have the Trapping License, you will need to craft several items, including a trap (Simple animal trap) and one collection point (Animal collection point). For this, you must, of course, collect different materials and resources, of which here is the complete list.

After you have crafted these elements, all you have to do is place them in the place of your choice. Regarding the trap (Simple animal trap), on our side, we preferred to position it on the island adjacent to the main one, since more animals seem to be present in this area. After placing your trap, you can place meat on it to attract animals and/or birds.
Then after a while you will be able to see that your trap has worked and an animal has been caught. From then on, all you have to do is pick up your trap and carry it to the collection point, where you will have to drop it off. The animal will then be transferred to the research center. But don’t worry, no harm will be done to him.
The next day, said center will tell you, in a letter available in your mailbox, to have released the animal in question and will then return your trap to you. Note that, later, you will have the opportunity to unlock more effective traps, in particular the Animal Trap made of metal. As an indication, this is how we managed to catch several birds and even a kangaroo.
