2021 is a very special year for the fashion world. This new fashion week will be done in funny conditions, and for the majority of the parades, in livestream ; that is, live broadcast on the Internet. This was of course the case with Dior. However, it is not because the guests were not there, but behind their screens, that the fashion house did not see things in a big way. For the presentation of his fall-winter 2021-2022 ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director at Dior since 2017, invested the very famous Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles ; just that !
A dark and poetic look
The different looks unveiled during the show were all more sublime than the others. All rather dark, playing mainly with black and white, these outfits were accompanied by a equally dark beauty. Effectively, Peter Philips, creative and image director of Dior make-up, had chosen a make-up allowing to intensify the look, that is to say a most original smoky-eyes. "I put the eyes in value by making a variation around a intense smoky-eyes, lit by degraded shadows. I wanted the look to be dark and poetic, in keeping with the mysterious fairytale atmosphere of this collection " said the make-up artist via a press release.
Peter Philips has therefore revisited the classic smoky-eyes that we all know. The make-up artist first underlined the eyes with a dark line using the Diorshow Stylo in black tint (29.90 euros on sephora.fr). Then, it was with Diorshow Mono Couleur Couture eyeshadow in Black Bow (35.90 euros on nocibe.fr) that he insisted on inner and outer corners only, so as to create a lighter area in the center of the mobile eyelid. This allows maintaining a luminous and open look and avoiding the effect of too much makeup, too heavy. A excellent tip, and a sublime make-up that we can not wait to reproduce in our turn!
