“Champions for Charity 2022” is coming up in August. In addition to Dirk Nowitzki and Mick Schumacher, numerous sports stars will again be honored.

For the fourth time now, on August 24th of this year, the “Champions for Charity” will lace up their cleated shoes with the support of ING Germany. At the charity football game in honor of Michael Schumacher (53), numerous active and former athletes from all possible areas gather again for a good cause. Of course, the two initiators of the event in Frankfurt am Main, Dirk Nowitzki (44) and Mick Schumacher (23), should not be missing.

For their respective all-star team, they can build on well-known players. Mick Schumacher’s Formula 1 colleague Sebastian Vettel (34) will be on the field, as will Dortmund professional Mats Hummels (33). Other active football professionals on site are Lukas Podolski (37), Timo Werner (26), Christoph Kramer (31) and Florian Neuhaus (25). World champion Sami Khedira (35), who retired about a year ago, will also be there.

There will also be no shortage of prominent amateur soccer players at the Frankfurt Waldstadion. Table tennis veteran Timo Boll (41), ex-ski racer Felix Neureuther (38), ex-hockey player Moritz “Mo” Fürste (37) and former handball player Christian “Blacky” Schwarzer (52) make sure of that.

Fun meets ambition

“We are happy about the many commitments from top athletes and are already busy working on the team line-ups,” says basketball superstar Nowitzki. Mick Schumacher also lets on that ambition is aroused at such a fun event: “I probably have to start training now so that I can look good with my team against Dirk and his squad.”

From June 20, for ten euros (7 euros reduced) Tickets for “Champions for Charity 2022” be acquired. Proceeds go to the Nowitzkis Foundation and the Schumachers’ Keep Fighting Foundation.
