Former child actor, who notably played Jack Bauer’s nephew in season 6 of 24h Chrono, and also seen in the series CSI: Miami, Evan Ellingson died at the age of 35 in his home in San Bernardino.
The information was confirmed on the site TMZ by his father, who confided that he had struggled with addiction problems for a long time but was getting better recently. While the circumstances of his death are unclear, no foul play would be involved.
Born July 1, 1988 in Los Angeles, Evan Ellingson began his career as a young actor in a TV film, Doubt in the Heart, at the age of 12. Between 2000 and 2002, he participated, for ten episodes over two seasons, in the series Titus, which relates the daily life of Christopher Titus and his family, between an alcoholic father and a simpleton brother.
In 2007, he played Josh Bauer for nine episodes, the nephew of the character played by Kiefer Sutherland, in the series 24h Chrono. Amid several small roles (including one in Clint Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima, where he plays a young Marine), Evan Ellingson is best known for his recurring role as Kyle Harmon, the son of Lieutenant Horatio Caine and Julia Winston, in the series The Experts: Miami for which he played in 18 episodes over three years.
After playing Cameron Diaz’s son in the film My Life for Yours, Evan Ellingson walked away from the film sets and never returned. In 2008, he tragically lost his brother, who died of a heroin overdose. Marked by his alcohol and drug addiction problems, he underwent several withdrawal treatments. “I fell into it when I was 19, and over the years I got to a point where I stopped talking to my family.” sadly confided the actor in 2021, in a moving video.
