The investigation experienced a marked acceleration on Saturday, February 4, when the gendarmerie brigade of Crozon (Finistère) reported to the judicial police the presence of a couple whose man gave indications of the potential involvement of his brother in the disappearance of Héléna Cluyou.
“This couple explained that they had arrived the day before, Friday, at the end of the day after having been in contact with a family member, the brother of the gentleman, who was in a difficult state and who informed his brother of the imminent end of his life.“, detailed the prosecutor. The couple, from Tours, then came to the home of this man, in Brest, to help him. He was found in a conditionalmost dyingafter attempting to end his life.
Despite his condition, the man in question managed to say that he had “did something stupid“, that “his life was over” and “it was an accident“, without being able to give more details, detailed the prosecutor. A friend, perhaps his partner, was also present at his home.

The four people went to the Brest police station on Friday evening. But the man’s physical condition was such that he had to be rushed to hospital, without being able to be heard by the police. The couple from Tours nevertheless indicated at the reception of the police station that the brother had mentioned his involvement in an accident. “No link at that time could be made between this accident mentioned and the ongoing procedure (concerning the disappearance of Héléna Cluyou, Ed)“Explained the prosecutor of Brest.

Following these new elements, the investigators of the judicial police went to the hospital, Saturday morning, to audition the man. But the latter was found with a plastic bag over his head. He had just made a second suicide attempt. He is now in intensive care, between life and death.
Custody measures were taken in the entourage of the hospitalized individual but they were lifted.
