On September 23, 2023, Lina disappeared. The 15-year-old teenager was walking to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station (Bas-Rhin) where she was to take a train to Strasbourg. Since then, Lina has not given any news. Her cell phone went off at one point on her way to the station. The instruction initially focused on the track of a blue Clio. Quickly questioned and searched, a music teacher was finally dismissed from the case. “It was a classic audit in this type of business. This music teacher may not have necessarily answered easily or other, something not always easy. The police did the job they had to do. Nothing should be neglected.”explained General François Daoust, director of the gendarmerie research center, on November 8, 2023 on the airwaves of RTL.
Fanny Groll: “There is no other choice”
Friday February 2, 2024, during a press conference in the presence of his lawyer, Me Matthieu Airoldi, Lina’s mother spoke out about the investigation. Fanny Groll notably publicly demanded that people stop starting rumors or insinuating leads in their speeches on social networks. She notably mentioned the case of a YouTuber, against whom a complaint for defamation was filed. The latter notably accused Tao of lying. “There are limits to everything. This is so huge, hurtful and so wrong that I can’t let it happen. Sometimes I think I’m going through hell. People don’t realize the harm they can do“, she lamented. For her part, her lawyer, Me Airoldi, asked the Saverne public prosecutor’s office to put an end to “these torrents of rubbish“.
Fanny Groll, who is forced to maintain hope of one day seeing her daughter again, also confided in the subject of her frustration at seeing the investigator skating: “It’s terrible every day, I think all the time, I analyze, I make hypotheses“. Thursday February 1st, Lina’s mother met with the investigating judges to take stock of the case.
