Disappearance of the Godard family: the jumpsuit of the father stained with blood, these shocking images revealed

In the first episode of the documentary Doctor Godard – The Man Who Wanted to Quit Everything, Thierry Lezeau, the investigation director, returned to the analysis of the suspect’s vehicle on September 8, 1999. A vehicle which concealed numerous stains of blood.

This is one of the most mysterious French news items of recent years. At the beginning of September 1999, the doctor Yves Godard and his two children, Camille, 6 years old and Marius, 4 years olddisappeared at sea after renting a sailboat at the Saint-Malo marina. In the first episode of the documentary Doctor Godard – The Man Who Wanted to Quit Everything, broadcast this Sunday March 5 on TF1, Thierry Lezeau, the director of investigation, returned to theanalysis of the family combi by the scientific police and which then led to the search of the home of the Godards of Tilly-sur-Seulles, in Calvados.

Inside the vehicle, the police will quickly discover “dark streaks” on the rear step. And when you open the right side door, there are reddish discharge”, said Thierry Lezeau in the documentary, specifying that they then carried out analyzes to make sure that it was indeed blood. “And the further we go on this car, the more disturbing elements there are,” added the investigator.

The floor of the vehicle stained with blood

Indeed, after removing the black seals and then the floor of the combi, the police realized that large quantities of blood had infiltrated the floor of the vehicle. “We had reddish stains and halos on the right side of the vehicle, going from the sliding door to the rear, but not higher than 20 centimeters, as if a lying person, bloodstained bags or a body wrapped in blankets had been laid there. And then the amount of blood, given the infiltrations that there were, there must have been quite a lot”continued Thierry Lezeau.

After analyzing the vehicle, the gendarmes therefore searched the family home. And inside, new bloodstains were discovered. A few days later, on September 12, 1999, it turned out that this blood discovered in the house was that of Marie-France Godard, the mother of the family. However, her body was never found and the courts were never able to prove that her husband had killed her, having himself disappeared. It should be noted that in June 2000, the skull of little Camille was fished out by a shellfish collector in the bay of Saint-Brieuc, off Erquy. Yves Godard’s tibia and femur were also discovered in the water six years later, in September 2006. The body of little Marius, on the other hand, has never been found, and it is not known to this day what really happened to members of the Godard family.
