The Italian manufacturer Fiat confirms the name of its next small electric SUV.
This cousin of the Peugeot 2008 will arrive later in the year, and will be baptized… Fiat 600!
The Fiat 600 unveiled in Rome
It is within the framework of the “World Meetings of Human Fraternity”, an event in Rome of which Fiat is a partner, that the Italian manufacturer wanted to formalize its new electric SUV: Fiat 600. A name that pays tribute to the vehicle presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show… in 1955.
For Fiat, it is obviously a question of offering a “family” alternative to its small (very popular) electric Fiat 500, the small SUV being obviously based on the CMP platform of the Stellantis group.
Presentation planned for this summer
Through an official video, Fiat wanted to present the silhouette of its new Fiat 600, which obviously shares many similarities with the little 500. Based on the Peugeot 2008 platform and other Jeep Avenger, the Fiat 600 will stretch to just over 4 meters and adopt simple, clean lines.
On board, we will probably benefit from 100% digital instrumentation, with a large screen (in landscape mode) installed on the center console.
This new Fiat 600 will be officially presented on July 4th. The manufacturer should in particular reveal the engine of this small SUV, which could rely on the 156 hp electric block, powered by a 54 kWh battery.
Note that a hybrid version will also be offered later, as well as thermal versions.
This new Fiat 600 should be produced in Poland at the end of the year, for marketing scheduled for next year. We are now waiting to know at what price this small electric SUV signed Fiat will be launched.
