In 2023, the Disneyland Paris amusement park celebrates its 30th anniversary; its parent company becomes a century old. For this occasion, the big-eared firm is planning new attractions and festivities throughout the year.
For its 100 years, Disney thinks big. The famous studio founded in 1923 by Walt Disney in California, at the origin of a string of magical animated films, announced this month to punctuate the year of its centenary with novelties. In France, to mark the occasion, a day of special festivities will be scheduled for October 16, the company’s birthday, in the Disneyland Paris amusement park. According to a company statement, visitors will be entitled in particular to “exclusive character encounters” and “unique experiences” immersed in the world of Disney. The visual and sensory experience “Disney 100: Friendship is wonderful”, recommended for visitors aged 18 and over, will also tour Europe in London (May), Berlin (June), Paris (July) and Barcelona (September).
A month later, on November 11 and 12, a philharmonic orchestra will bring to life the original music and songs of the classics and recent films at the Paris La Défense Arena stadium. One medley of three hours, during which spectators will be able to listen live to the soundtrack of Cinderellaof Lion King or even of Snow Queen. Musical themes from other Disney-owned subsidiaries will be included, like the Marvel universe, Pixar or even Star Wars. The orchestra will also play in other major cities in France from November 17 to December 30.

New attractions in California
The Disneyland Resort park, located in California, will also celebrate the centenary of the company in its own way. He will kick off the festivities with its new attraction “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway” on January 27th. Visitors preferring to stroll through the park at night will be able to attend the two evening shows Wonderful Journey and World of Color – ONE. A big exhibition dedicated to the history of Disney will also open its doors in Philadelphia, before flying to other cities in the United States and Europe, to Munich and then to London.
