This portable mini safe has a powerful alarm to prevent theft of belongings on the beach.
If the term safe is reminiscent of our pirate ancestors, this product we are talking about today is modern and much lighter than it was then. The Toulouse start-up UpFiner has developed and markets an object designed to protect your personal property on the beach.
A beach alarm for his belongings
The overwhelming majority of vacationers and bathers have already been confronted with the problem: how to hide their personal belongings so as not to have them stolen on the beach. If some develop more or less effective strategies such as keys in a shoe or a hole dug under the towel, UpFiner provides an innovative solution.
Founded by Brice Cavelier and Flavien Joly, both from an electronic engineering background, the start-up produces mini portable safes in which to place all important or valuable objects. They are then locked using a secret code. Equipped with movement sensors, the trunk is programmed to ring when it moves when detection is activated. Therefore, during an attempted theft by an individual, the alarm that goes off emits a sound volume of more than 85 decibels. For information, this siren is audible from a hundred meters away and is intended to be comparable to the smoke detectors present in private homes. Several models for different uses
Currently, UpFiner markets two families of its anti-theft systems. The basic version works statically. In other words, it is necessary to unlock the device as soon as you want to transport it in order to avoid sounding the siren. Another version of this product exists and has an NFC reader. The latter authorizes the movement of the safe without unlocking, provided that its user carries his telephone. As long as the associated smartphone is within range of the safe, the latter will not trigger the alarm. This version is particularly suitable for motorhomes.
If this product proves to be very suitable for summer use on the beaches, the start-up indicates that swimmers are not its only customers. Many use cases are possible for this product. For example, a stopover at the airport, a sports session with a bag left on the edge of the pitch, a security solution for objects while camping, etc.
