While the latest rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could arrive with a little delay, the site 9to5Mac made an interesting discovery in the latest iOS 17 beta.

What’s new on the iPhone 15 Pro side?

While it’s now almost obvious that solid-state buttons aren’t coming with the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple’s top-end still has a few tricks up its sleeve. Indeed, the latter will obviously be equipped with the new A17 Bionic chip engraved in 3 nanometers and will logically house a hybrid photo sensor, which should in particular improve the clarity of your shots in low light environments. But if you ardently follow the news around the next iPhone, you know that another novelty is expected with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max: the configurable action button.

In fact, this would replace the current switch to switch the device to Silent / Ring mode. The new button could then be used to launch the camera, turn the flashlight on or off, or even use a shortcut. In total, no less than 9 options have been identified to date concerning this famous action button. This change could come in handy for performing actions without needing to unlock your iPhone first. Our colleagues from 9to5Mac share with us one of their new findings after digging through the code of iOS 17 for a long time. In previous betas of the operating system, the iPhone only sent stealthy haptic feedback when switching Silent. In the latest version, the lines of code suggest that the phone will send a vibration, including when silent mode is disabled. What exactly should we deduce? That this will allow the user to more easily identify when he will switch from one mode to another, especially since the haptic feedback will be visibly more pronounced than before.

Only a few days now separate us from the presentation of the iPhone 15 and its various iterations. Perhaps the opportunity for the apple brand to surprise us.
