Disney+: a Marvel series centered on the superhero Vision confirmed for 2026

Vision hasn’t completely disappeared from the MCU! After returning from the dead in the series WandaVisionthe superhero played by Paul Bettany will be the subject of a Marvel series expected on the Disney+ streaming service in 2026. According to our colleagues at Variety, Terry Matalas will be at the head of this currently untitled project in which Bettany will be back. We take stock.

A long-standing project

After being killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity Warthe character of Vision came back to life in 2021 in the series WandaVision, first in the form of a spectral apparition aimed at consoling his grieving companion Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), then in the guise of a ghost-like robot, deprived of the memories of his past life. At the end of the show, the character regains his memory before fleeing.

The new series announced by Marvel will therefore take place after these events and should explore Vision’s new existence.

A first version of this project began to be mentioned in 2022. At the time, she was the creator of WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer, who was to oversee it. The latter, however, turned its attention to another spin-off of WandaVision, Agatha All Alongwhich will be released on Disney+ next September.

Marvel therefore went to recruit Matalas following his success as showrunner on season 3 of the series. Star Trek: Picard, which greatly impressed studio boss Kevin Feige, a proven Trekkie. Before PicardMatalas also created and directed the series 12 Monkeys and wrote for many other shows like Nikita, Terra NovaAnd Star Trek: Enterprise.

While waiting to learn more about this series dedicated to Vision, the next live-action Marvel show coming to Disney+ is Agatha All Along, centered on the character of Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. The first two episodes will be available on September 18.
