Disney animals in real life? This is what they would look like!

An Italian artist by the name of Dito Von Tease has reimagined 38 animated characters, many of them from Disney, such as Rémy from “Ratatouille” or Sad sire from “Robin Hood”, in a “realistic” version. What does it give?

Reinterpreting fictional characters, animated or not, is obviously nothing new. Many artists have been doing it for years. In this register, the Italian artist who calls himself Dito Von Tease, a graduate of Design and Graphic Arts, has taken it into his head to offer “realistic” variations of characters from the world of animation. Specifically characters that have the traits of animals.

The spectrum is therefore very broad in his creations. This goes from Bojack Horseman to the adorable cat Doraemon, passing by the Ninja Turtles, Snoopy, the snail from Turbo, Babar, the dog Diabolo from the cult cartoon Satanas and Diabolo, the pink panther, the brilliant and funny Sad sire from Robin Hood…

In this selection, Disney productions logically carve out a good place. “What would animal cartoon characters look like in real life? I reimagined 38 animals from animation as living beings, using digital painting. A large gallery that brings back the sweet memories of childhood.

I picked them straight from the 70s to today; from cartoons to comics, from Italy to the rest of the world. I tried to give them their pose, their look, their soul. And the result looks like real animals cosplaying their cartoon versions. I showed the project to my son Alessandro (4 years old) and he recognized almost all of them!”
