The latest film dedicated to Black Panther (Wakanda Forever) joins the Disney+ catalog in April with other good surprises. Certain choices prove that the platform continues to open up more and more to Japanese animated series, beyond the essential Bleach or Sand Land, the broadcast of which has not yet finished.

Iwájú

Disney has partnered with pan-African entertainment company Kugali to bring the miniseries Iwájú from April 3 in its streaming catalog. This family animated series will only have 6 episodes but it will be accompanied by a documentary entitled Iwájú: A new day. A good way to understand where the concept of this multi-cultural story came from, which above all aims to bring people together.

According to the director, the project Iwájú results from the combination of several factors, starting with the desire to pay homage to the rich cultural landscape of Lagos, Nigeria. The story unfolds like an initiatory story, but in the future. It brings together two teenagers ready to combine their talents to uncover sinister plots, Kole being passionate about new technology while Tola seems driven by unfailing determination. The series should be able to count on its colorful lizard mascot to entertain the youngest.

The Fable

The anime adaptation of the manga The Fable comes to Disney+ starting April 6. Katsuhisa Minami’s work has a large community of fans in Japan and is currently published in France by Pika Edition. The paper version has fewer than 22 volumes, 16 of which have already been translated into French. The first arc of the manga will be the focus of the animated series The Fable to be found in simulcast on Disney+.

Feared by the entire Japanese underworld, a professional killer capable of eliminating a target in less than 6 seconds is forced to hang up. The ruthless hitman is forced to take on a new identity and put away his Nighthawk pistol to try to lead a normal existence… for a whole year. But for such an impulsive assassin, the promise not to kill may prove difficult to keep. A second part should be broadcast immediately for a total of 24 episodes.

No Longer Rangers

It is also on the Disney+ platform that we will find the anime No Longer Rangers, adapted from the manga of the same name. April 7 will mark the start of the broadcast of this series directed by Keiichi Satô, to whom we owe the excellent adaptation of Last Hero Inuyashiki. No Longer Rangers is a surprising shônen that imagines a futuristic setting in which the saviors of Earth are not who they say they are. The Dragon Keepers will suddenly see their long series of victories compromised by the isolated actions of an enemy, tired of playing the eternal victims and determined to put an end to this deception.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Launched in 2022, the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will have allowed Marvel Studios to mourn King T’Challa while paying tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman. The proud people of Wakanda can fortunately count on Shuri (Letitia Wright), Queen Ramonda and M’Baku to take over in the face of the growing threat posed by Namor, the Prince of the Seas. New alliances are formed to counter the ambitions of the underwater kingdom of Talocan.

While the rumors surrounding an Eyes of Wakanda animated series seem to be coming true, fans of the Marvel cinematic universe will be able to revise their classics around the character of Black Panther with the broadcast of the film Wakanda Forever, from April 12 on Disney+.

In this life or another

Taking exactly the title of the original novel by Manuel Jabois, the series In this life or another is inspired by real events. At the origin of this story, there are the memories of a certain “Baby”, whose real name is Gabriel Montoya Vidal, then a teenager at the time of the events. Barely 16 years old, the young man found himself involved in the preparation of what would become the largest jihadist attack in Europe : that of Madrid, March 11, 2004. His role was to facilitate the transport of explosives, for which he will be convicted, also becoming a key element of the trial. The dozen bombs planted by radical Islamists left nearly 200 dead and more than 1,900 injured.
