Disney Dreamlight Valley, developed and published by Gameloft, arrived in early access at the beginning of September 2022, on most platforms. The software, which we can categorize as a “life simulation” or a “management game”, invites players and players to meet many characters from Disney animated films, to complete various quests and collect items (vegetables, fruits, wood, flowers, materials, etc.).

Moreover, the second major update, deployed on December 6, 2022 on Disney Dreamlight Valleyadded several new features, including a new gem named “Onyx”. In this guide, we explain how to get onyx in disney dreamlight valley.

Get Onyx in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Get Onyx on Disney Dreamlight Valley is actually not very difficult. But that might take you some time. Indeed, the drop rate for this new gem seems quite low, which means that you will certainly need several tries before recovering it. Nevertheless, and as you already suspect, it is by breaking mining rocks (as in the image below), using your pickaxe, that you will find Onyx.

Unlike other gems, such as Garnet, Peridot or Diamond (to name just a few examples), it is possible to find Onyx in all regions of the Valley. On our side, we succeeded in obtaining some, for the first time, in the Tranquil Prairie. Thus, you don’t need to go to a specific location to get this resource. You just need to just smash mining rocks.

According to the information available in particular in the “Collection” tab, then “Gems” of the in-game menu, Onyx can be sold individually for 300 Star Coins. Note that this resource can be used to craft Night Shards as well as two potions, “Miraculous Pickaxe Polish” and “Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish”.
