While the Z Event 2022 breaks records in France with the million euros collected in barely 3 hours, another gaming event was worthy of interest this Friday, September 9: the D23 and more specifically the Disney & Marvel’s Games Showcase conference. For an hour, it was an opportunity to learn more about upcoming and current titles from Star Wars, Disney or Avatar licenses. Although the show was quite light in revelations with a Kingdom Hearts 4 totally absent, you can find a summary of the evening’s announcements below.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: new content
New early access content is coming this fall to Disney Dreamlight Valley with a new Kingdom to explore: toy Story. You can then bring Buzz Lightyear and Woody to your village. In the trailer, we also see Scar appear! Maybe the characters from The Lion King will also be there?
In the meantime, you can still buy a Founder’s Pack or use the Game Pass to get started on the adventure before the game becomes free to play in 2023. On our side, we are at more than forty hours of play and we have concocted a multitude of guides for your adventure and our opinion:
A teased Captain America game
Although we were hoping to hear some news about the Wolverine game and Spiderman 2, it was finally a new Captain America title that was revealed tonight. It must be said that the two Sony exclusives will probably be shown during a dedicated State of Play. Regarding this new game, it is actually the famous project teased by Amy Hening, best known for her work on Uncharted. Developed by Skydance Media, the title has no name but the cinematic takes place in Paris and reveals some objects related to Hydra.
We are then revealed to be Captain America’s shield scratched with the famous hands of Black Panther and 4 words “King – Captain – Soldier – Spy”.
Marvel World of Heroes: Niantic’s new baby
For a few years now, Niantic has been working on a major project related to Augmented Reality. The father of Ingress and Pokémon GO was then developing technology allowing players to fight fluidly as if they were casting spells: at the time, we thought that all this was done for the game Harry Potter Wizards Unite but nope. The end of the story was finally revealed tonight with this new mobile game Marvel World of Heroes which will be released in 2023.

Avatar galore
With the second film by James Cameron which will be released in theaters in December, two major games are planned for the license:
- Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: a big RPG developed at Ubisoft which unfortunately only showed us a few seconds of cinematics,
- Avatar Reckoning : a mobile game with a gameplay mixing shooter and mmorpg which will arrive “soon”. You can create your own Na’vi there.

Simple teasers or games that we have known for a long time already, here are the other announcements of the evening:
- Tron Identity can be added in your wishlist Steam. This new game is described as a “visual novel” filled with puzzles.
- Midnight Suns: new gameplay and a confirmed release date of December 2, 2022,
- Disney Illusion Island will be released on Nintendo Switch in 2023,
- Marvel Strike Force : a mobile game available now on iOS and Android,
- marvel snap : another mobile and PC deck building game which will be released on October 18, 2022,
- Aliens Dark Decent : gameplay was shown for a few seconds,
- LEGO Star Wars the Skywalker Saga: new characters arrive in DLC like Cassian or Rex. For the occasion, a Galactic Edition will be released on November 1, comprising 13 Packs, including 6 new ones!
- A remaster for Gargoyles has been announced,
- Disney Mirrorverse content update coming in October focusing on Disney villains,
- disney speedstorm : still in beta on PC and consoles, the Mario Kart racing game offers new maps and new characters from Monsters and Company.
