Disney is preparing to completely shake up its MCU universe

During San Diego Comic-Con, Disney presented the films and series of phase 5 & 6 of its MCU. But the firm already has in mind phase 7 could redistribute the cards of the Marvel universe in cinema and on the small screen.

Mickey’s company has plenty of Marvel projects to occupy cinemas and its Disney+ streaming service for the next three years. Black Panther Forever, Captain America 4, Daredevil Born Again or Avengers 5 & 6 at the conclusion of phase 6, there is enough to last for a long time. And after ? We could almost forget everything and start all over again!

Towards a reboot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

And yes ! After the release of Avengers 6: Secret Wars on November 7, 2015, Disney could start a reboot of its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or rather a “soft reboot” if the company follows the comics well.

In the “Secret Wars” comics, several Incursions annihilate the universes. The rest of the various Earths combine with each other to form Battleword. A planet divided into several territories with aspects of the various universes. On Battleword several versions of the same character coexist. Eventually, the heroes manage to restore the multiverse, but not without lasting repercussions. For example, Spider-Men Miles Morales and Peter Parker now share the same universe. So will the MCU’s Earth-616.

can we read in our colleagues from Eklecty-City. This restoration of the multiverse could lead for us to a reboot of the MCU.

Tom Cruise as Iron Man?

Therefore, Disney could have fun bringing back its most iconic characters like Iron Man but not that of Robert Downey Jr. With Tom Cruise? The name keeps coming up and Michael Waldron, screenwriter of Doctor Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness, even wanted to recruit Mr. Mission Impossible in Tony Stark’s suit.

But given his busy schedule, Marvel Studios and producer Kevin Feige didn’t even approach him to take the temperature. By phase 7, he might be able to break free… or not! After all, the actor with his movie Top Gun Maverick is stronger than The Avengers, so what’s the point of going to the superhero stable? Especially since he is known to supervise his projects, including the stunts of the latter, which would probably not fit with Disney’s philosophy.
