Is it still necessary to present Disney+? Launched in 2019 in the USA and in 2020 in France, the streaming service was thought of as THE essential platform to watch everything related directly or indirectly to Disney. With the universes of Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm, there is already plenty to do. The platform is rich with thousands of films, short films, cartoons and other documentaries for all audiences, but it targets a very general audience.

In 2021, in order to diversify its content offer, Disney+ launched Star, a new section available to all subscribers, and responsible for broadcasting more “adult” content, resulting from partnerships with major players in the industry or created for the occasion. Latest example, the mini-series Pam & Tommy, which goes back in detail on the story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, and more particularly, the scandal surrounding the disclosure of the sextape shot on the occasion of their honeymoon. honey. Back to Star, the hidden asset of Disney+.

Pam & Tommy: the event series exclusively on Star today

With Pam & Tommy, get ready to relive one of the biggest celebrity affairs of the 90s. With 8 episodes, this mini-series halfway between a criminal affair and a love story returns to the scandal of the diffusion of the sex tape of Paméla Anderson and Tommy Lee, and its consequences on the couple.

In 1995, Pamela Anderson, star of the hit series Alerte à Malibu, met Tommy Lee, drummer of the band Motley Crue. It’s love at first sight. Four days later, here they are married, gone on honeymoon, and happy owners of a tape immortalizing the ardor of their wedding night. A tape that remained warm in a safe in their Malibu home until 1996. It was stolen there by a duo of improvised burglars with a grudge against the couple, sold at auction to tabloids, and broadcast on the seen by everyone on the internet. A chain of events that plunges the couple into turmoil, makes the headlines of the press around the world and changes the face of the internet forever (just that).

To tell this colorful story, Pam & Tommy relies on a three-star cast including Seth Rogen (who everyone has already seen in The interview that kills! Where Supergrave) and Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation) as the burglars, and Sebastian Stan (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Tommy Lee. If we are to believe the first returns, it is however the interpreter of Pamela Anderson, Lily Rose (Yesterday, Baby Driver) who bursts the screen thanks to his nuanced performance, realizing there what is undoubtedly the greatest performance of his career.

The first three episodes of Pam & Tommy are already available on Star, on Disney+. The following five episodes will be broadcast over the next few weeks, at the rate of one per week.
