Disney seems to be making visual changes to its series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The objective is clear: to censor certain violent and bloody passages of the Marvel show to adapt it to a wider audience.

According to sources from TVLinethe censored alternate episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier would have been put online by Disney+ by mistake, as part of a version control problem. A journalist from The Hollywood Reporter, which speaks of a software concern, adds that the situation was being corrected. After verification, on our side it is nevertheless still the censored version which is currently offered on the service.

This is likely to put a coin back in the controversy machine that Disney seems to want to become. Regularly in the news in recent months following decisions that are sources of debate, the firm seems in any case to be retouching once again a work that has been online for a while: the Marvel series Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As often on the Internet, it is to users of Reddit that we owe the discovery of the day. At least two scenes from the show appear to have been edited to remove blood and alter a hard-hitting action scene. Many other violent passages remain in this particularly muscular section of the MCU, but these could well be only the first changes ahead of others to come.
If Disney has not communicated on these changes, there is no doubt that the objective is not to alienate parents whose children could come across passages that are too violent for their taste. A late decision which however remains quite surprising, especially since the SVoD platform is one of those which offers the best parental control tools.
