  • In the Disney + program you will now find a promising new film.
  • Shortly after the cinema release, you can stream the star-studded crime thriller “Death on the Nile”.
  • Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptation isn’t the only new highlight coming to Disney+.

Since the Corona year 2020 ensured that numerous films were not released in cinemas at all or only much later, many film studios decided on a new release strategy that primarily benefits streaming. Films can be released digitally or as DVD and Blu-Ray just 45 days after the cinema release.

This means that films that are not very successful in the cinema can try their luck in the stream quite quickly, while successful cinema films can of course also run in the cinema for much longer. After all, the new regulation is optional, as was recently noticed in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. If enough money can be earned with cinema tickets, the start of home cinema simply moves back.

“Death on the Nile,” on the other hand, is one of those unsuccessful candidates. The crime thriller, which has been postponed several times, was released in cinemas in early February 2022 and hardly caused a stir there. Accordingly, early on, namely on March 30, 2022, Disney + will include the Agatha Christie film in its program.

Once again Kenneth Branagh, who just won an Oscar for his screenplay for “Belfast”, took over the direction and also played the lead role. In the sequel to “Murder on the Orient Express” you have to solve a murder case with numerous suspects again.

With Murder on the Orient Express a success and Death on the Nile a flop, it’s hard to predict the future of the Poirot series. If the current film is met with great interest on Disney +, further sequels may be conceivable, which will then appear directly in the stream.

At the same time as “Death on the Nile”, Disney+ also released the first episode of the new Marvel series “Moon Knight” on March 30th. Check out our Disney+ news for more upcoming highlights.
