Disney+: programs not to be missed in February 2022

It may be February, but it will be hot on Disney+ in the days to come. The fault of the long-awaited series Pam & Tommywhich retraces the events around the sextape of Pamela Anderson, one of the first leaks enabled by the Internet (and quite a few VHS) in its very early days. The rest is a little wiser, with the first French fiction produced by Disney+, Family weekendand the animated adventures of Fantastic Mr Fox by Wes Anderson.

Season 3 of The Piscou Band finally arrives on the platform, accompanied by a shovelful of films of all kinds, Ralph 2.0 at Alita: Battle Angel through the trilogies Taken and Arthur and the Invisibles or the very successful film in costume The Favorite.

Event of the month: Pam & TommyFebruary 2

We are far, very far from the family line put forward by Disney + at its launch. Available on Star exclusively for major profiles, Pam & Tommy looks back on a story of the most sulphurous, that of the sextape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in the 1990s. Fun detail, the interpreters of the two protagonists have previously passed through very famous brands of the Disney team. Lily James, unrecognizable in the role of the iconBaywatchwas the Cinderella of adaptation live-action of the fairy tale released a few years ago, while Sebastian Stan, who slips into the boots of the drummer of Mötley Crüe, is still to this day the “Winter Soldier” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Another register therefore for the two actors, who are joined in the cast by the excellent Seth Rogen and Nick Offerman, seen in particular in Parks & Recreation.

Change of atmosphere with this series for all audiences commissioned and produced by Disney+, a first for a French fiction. Éric Judor leads the cast of this comedy centered on the father of three daughters, born to three different mothers who all ended up leaving the father, while maintaining good relations with him. The pitch does not renew the genre, of course, but it has the merit of paving the way for French programs on Disney +, which will soon proliferate after the passage last summer of the SMAD decree. We therefore hope, if we had to compare to French works produced at Netflix, that we will be more on a quality of the type Lupine than Marseilles…

We will also (re) see with pleasure: Fantastic Mr FoxFebruary 4

Even when he tells the animated stories of a clever fox, Wes Anderson always has a knack for surrounding himself with the greatest. In the voice cast of this Fantastic Mr Fox, in addition to regulars like Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe or Jason Schwartzman, we thus find George Clooney and Meryl Streep in VO, and Mathieu Amalric and Isabelle Huppert in VF. For the rest, we are still on classic Wes Anderson, from the ultra-clean and excessively symmetrical frames to the wacky pitch – a robbery of chickens featuring characters as stoic as they are offbeat. Add to that a stop-motion animation with small onions, and you have a real success to show to young and old alike.
