DID YOU KNOW ?

Dumbo

In the early 1940s, when the Disney studio teams got down to making Dumbo, animator Bill Tytla was responsible for bringing the little elephant to life. According to his testimony, it was observing his own son, who was very young at the time, that he drew all the youthful expressions of the character. What offer the latter an incredible realism and a disturbing humanity.

Aladdin

While they say they were inspired by rapper MC Hammer and his style of dress to give Aladdin his famous baggy pants, the animators of the classic Disney borrowed the features of Michael J. Fox and Tom Cruise to draw the face of their young hero.

The beauty and the Beast

Animated by legendary artist Glen Keane (also known for bringing Ariel to life in The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Rapunzel and Pocahontas), the Beast is a mix of several different animals. Indeed, by observing his face more carefully, we can recognize a lion’s mane, a bison’s beard, boar’s tusks and gorilla’s eyebrow arches.
