It was this weekend that Disney organized its D23. And it turns out that this annual event dedicated to the novelties of the American multinational was an opportunity to discover some curiosities.

Disney did its show during the D23! Today, we are going to come back to an announcement that could have gone a little unnoticed. Indeed, Disney + has just hosted a short film like no other. Title Remembering, this fiction follows an author (played by Brie Larson) who forgets an incredible idea she has just had. She therefore leaves to pursue this famous idea in a kind of imaginary world.

A really interesting feature?

A fairly banal story for a Disney but which stands out from the rest through a simple mobile application. Downloadable on iOS, this app allows us to extend the decor of the short film into our living room using augmented reality. The video below shows for example a waterfall coming out of the screen.

To ensure augmented reality works properly, Disney recommends that users have an iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max (and above). On the iPad side, the 12.9” (4e generation) and iPad Pro 11” (2e generation) are recommended. Finally, it is important to note that the AR function is currently only usable in the United States.

Disney+

  • Disney classics in one place
  • Exclusive Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars series
  • A very attractive price

It was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Disney+ is not a Netflix rival but a complementary offer, geared particularly towards children and more broadly towards the family. The Star universe, meanwhile, remains the poor relation of the platform and will require several years of work to catch up with its competitors.
