Tomorrow, Disney+ will host the highly anticipated mini-series Obi-Wan Kenobiwith Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, but it is far from being the only program planned for the streaming platform. Vanity Fair had recently given an update on what awaits us regarding the license Star Wars in general, but that was without counting on the Star Wars Celebration 2022 who just started in Anaheim. The biggest announcement for this distant galaxy was the release of the first teaser trailer for Andoraccompanied by a launch date on the SVoD.
If you liked Rogue One: A Star Wars Storythis series of 12 episodes taking place 5 years before and therefore featuring Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) should interest you. The visual atmosphere of the film is found somewhat in the first scenes unveiled, where the threat of theEmpire is palpable, well helped by the rhythm of the percussions. It won’t be long before we see more, because Andor will be broadcast on Disney+ from next August 31 with two episodes to start. We will also find in the cast Genevieve O’Reilly resuming her role as My Mothmaas well as Stellan Skarsgård (Bill the Bootmaker in the Pirates of the Caribbean, Vladimir Harkonnen in Dunes), Adria Arjona (Martine Bancroft in Morbius), Denise Gough (English voice of Yennefer in The Witcher 3) and Kyle Soller.
Here is also the synopsis of this series created by Tony Gilroy, who officiates as showrunner :
The Andor series will explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series tells the story of the budding rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It is a time filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to transform him into a rebel hero.
And so that’s not all. In 2023, we will therefore be able to discover, among other things, Ahsoka and especially season 3 of The Mandalorian. The series with the character of Pedro Pascal and his adorable sidekick Grogu will be broadcast from February and offered a new logo for the occasion. If other projects have not been talked about again, there is a new one that has been added to the list, a certain Star Wars: Skeleton Crewan original series starring Jude Law which will be released again next year. Just do we know that it will feature a group of children lost in the galaxy at the time of The Mandalorian, which does not help us much. Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will otherwise serve as executive producers.
Reasons to stay subscribed Disney+ for fans of Star Wars will therefore be more numerous than ever.
