Streaming provider confirms “Percy Jackson” series

Disney+ is producing a series based on the Percy Jackson book series.

Now the time has finally come: Disney + is making the first series from the book series “Percy Jackson” by Rick Riordan.

Disney+ has officially greenlit the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The series adaptation of the book series by Rick Riordan (57) was first reported as “in progress” by the streaming provider in May 2020. The series currently being audited was directed by Riordan announced on the Disney+ YouTube channel.

The live-action adaptation of the series tells the story of the titular 12-year-old modern-day demigod as he comes to terms with his newfound supernatural powers. When the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt, Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.

The first series of “Percy Jackson”

The book series by “Percy Jackson” includes the titles “Thieves in Olympus”, “Slayer of the Cyclops”, “The Curse of the Titan”, “The Battle of the Labyrinth” and “The Last Goddess”. The first two have previously been adapted into feature films. Logan Lerman (30) played the leading role of Percy Jackson. The two films were released in 2010 and 2013 and received mixed reviews. They grossed more than $425 million worldwide.
