Since September 6, the 21st season of the essential series The Griffins has been available on Disney+. This new burst of episodes opens with revisited versions of three Oscar-winning feature films. Silence, it’s running!
While its 22nd season will be launched on American television on October 1, and has already been renewed for a 23rd burst of episodes, the animated series The Griffins (known as family guy in original version) is back on Disney+ with 20 new episodes still unpublished in France.
On this occasion, the famous family born from the imagination of Seth MacFarlane, to whom we also owe American Dad! and The Cleveland Show, pays homage to three great classics of the 7th art. In the first episode of season 21, now available on the platform, Peter, Lois, their three children and their dog Brian recreate Forrest Gump, American Beauty and The Silence of the Lambs.
CLASSICS REVISITED
These three feature films, all awarded the Oscar for best film after their release, and which marked the history of cinema, are obviously revisited in an accelerated version and with a good dose of humor and absurdity like the Griffin knows how to do it so well.

A little later in the season, for its 400th episode, Peter and his family also parody three other unforgettable films: Dirty Dancing, Alone in the World and When Harry Met Sally. Great references that moviegoers will not fail to appreciate!
Accustomed to celebrating pop culture, the essential series regularly has fun adapting cult works in its own way. We will thus remember the double episodes dedicated to the Star Wars saga in seasons 6, 8 and 9, or even episode 5 of the 16th season which tells the same story in the style of three renowned directors: Quentin Tarantino, Michael Bay and Wes Anderson!
On the vocal casting side, Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green and Mila Kunis still lend their voices to the members of the Griffin family in the original version. They are joined in season 21 by some notable guests: Mario Lopez, Jay Pharoah, Haley Joel Osment, Gerald McRaney…
