Finally: The new streaming service Disney + is available today, March 24, 2020. "Over 500 films, more than 350 series and 25 exclusive Disney + Originals" can be seen from the start in Germany, as the company announced in advance. Possibly a bright spot in the Corona crisis for many subscribers, which is currently largely paralyzing public life in this country. Customers across Germany can look forward to these films, series and originals – but a little patience is also required.
The most important in-house productions
The "Star Wars" spin-off "The Mandalorian" is eagerly awaited. The main role is convinced by Pedro Pascal (44, "Narcos"), the series is located between Episode VI ("The Return of the Jedi") and Episode VII ("The Force Awakens"). When Disney + launches, the first two episodes will be available. The third episode will be released on Friday, March 27, 2020, followed by a new episode every Friday, eight of which are in the first season. A second season has already been officially announced for fall 2020.
More Disney + Originals are available at the launch in Germany. These include the series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" – which is based on the successful film series – as well as "The World According to Jeff Goldblum", "Forky has a question" and "The Imagineering Story". Of the majority of the Originals series, only the first episode will be available for launch, followed by another episode on Friday, March 27th. After that, there is a new episode every Friday.
In the film category, the new edition of the cartoon classic "Susi and Strolch", "Togo: The Sled Dog" and "Timmy Flop: Failure All Along the Line" await. Disney + delivers manageable new material at the start in Germany. It is rather sprayed pure nostalgia and makes it possible in the midst of the corona crisis to dive into the perfect Disney world.
Disney hits from "Arielle" to "Winnie the Pooh"
The film classics "Arielle, the Mermaid", "Bambi", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Winnie the Pooh" are available to choose from. From "Aladdin", "Cinderella", "The Jungle Book", "The Lion King", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Dumbo", both the animated and live action versions are available. The animation highlights "Frozen – Completely Unforforen", "Rapunzel – Newly Spoiled" and "Vaiana – Paradise Has a Snag" are just as missing as all "High School Musical" films, twice "Camp Rock", "The Chronicles of Narnia "or all parts of" Pirates of the Caribbean ".
You can also see the cult hits "Darling, I shrunk the children" from 1989 and "Cool Runnings – It's all there" from 1993. A young Miley Cyrus (27) can be admired in "Hannah Montana". In addition, numerous Disney Channel series, short films and specials are offered.
Pixar highlights from "Everything is upside down" to "Wall-E"
Disney's computer animation and CGI company Pixar is among other things with "Everything is upside down", the three "Cars" films, the surprise hit "Coco – more alive than life!", "Monster AG" and the "Incredibles" and " Wall-E "represented. The Marvel heroes will also find their new streaming home at Disney +.
