Disney + has announced ten new in-house productions from Europe. Including two series from Germany.

Disney + is going on the offensive: The streaming giant announced at a digital press event that ten new in-house productions from Europe have been commissioned. This is reported, among other things, by the US industry website "Deadline". The ten originals also include two series from Germany.

The two series are "Sultan City" and "Sam – a Saxon". The first is a black comedy in which the mother of a German-Turkish family happens to be the head of a criminal empire. "Sam – a Saxon", however, is based on true events. It traces the life story of Samuel Meffire (50), who became East Germany's first Afro-German police officer in the early 1990s. Later he slipped into crime himself and served a seven-year prison sentence.

In addition to the German series, four projects from France, three from Italy and one from the Netherlands are in the works. Eight of the ten series will be shown with the new Disney + brand "Star". "Star" starts globally on February 23rd. While Disney + continues to see itself as family entertainment, Star aims to appeal to adults with its program. However, it is not yet known when the European in-house productions will be available for download. But it is already being shot.
