“West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler takes on the lead role in the real-life adaptation of the Disney classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
From the West Side to the dwarf forest: the aspiring young actress Rachel Zegler (20) will take on the leading role in the real-life adaptation of the cartoon classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. The reports the US industry journal “Deadline”.
For Zegler it is only the second leading role. In Steven Spielberg’s (74) version of “West Side Story”, the 20-year-old plays the role of Maria. The film is scheduled to hit US cinemas on December 10, 2021.
It will be a musical film
Similar to the Disney classic from 1937, the new edition of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” will also contain musical sequences. The music for this is to be completely rewritten. A possible cinema start is not yet known.
As a result, the list of films that Disney has or has taken for a live-action film adaptation is getting longer and longer. The most recent examples would be “Cruella” with Oscar winner Emma Stone (32), which was released in May 2021. A year earlier it was the adaptation of “Mulan” and in 2019 “The Lion King”.
