Dispute with guest – taxi driver fended off knife attack

A German (53) living in Straßwalchen asked a taxi driver on Sunday shortly after two o’clock for a trip from Salzburg home for 30 euros.

The taxi driver (43) from Salzburg refused the trip because it would cost much more. The German then hit the Salzburg man’s vehicle with his hand. The taxi driver got out to check whether his car was damaged. When the Salzburg man asked for his taxi, the German stood in front of him with a jackknife and threatened him or tried, according to the taxi driver, to injure him.

Then the Salzburg man kicked the 53-year-old, whereupon he fell to the ground. The taxi driver from Turkey kicked the knife in the direction of the opposite bus stop. Police arrested the German. He is in the police detention center and is being reported for attempted deliberate assault.
