  • In the north of Germany there were no long-distance trains on Saturday morning.
  • The reason was a technical fault that has now been resolved, Deutsche Bahn said.
  • As a result, there were still impairments as well as stops and train cancellations until around 11 a.m.

The trigger was a train radio disturbance, a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn told the Reuters news agency when asked whether it was external interference. The railway’s website spoke of a signal box problem.

Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein were affected. The temporary failure also had consequences for the long-distance connections to the west, south and north, which run via Hanover.
