Disturbances in rail traffic – SBB repair work in Liestal on course – problems in Lenzburg – News

  • The repair work on the railway system in Liestal BL is “on course”.
  • Individual trains are running again via Liestal before 12 p.m., according to the SBB.
  • Train replacement buses are running between Aarau and Lenzburg due to a disruption.

There have been restrictions on rail traffic between Basel SBB and Olten since Thursday afternoon due to technical problems. The reason was a signal box cable that was damaged during construction work, as an SBB spokeswoman said.

The repair work made good progress during the night and is on course. From 11:30 a.m., more through trains gradually ran, tweeted the SBB. Delays, cancellations and diversions are still to be expected.

Lines affected include ICE, TGV, IC3, IC6, IC21, IC61, IR26, IR37, IR27, S3. Travelers from Basel SBB to Lucerne, Arth-Goldau, Bellinzona, Lugano and Milano Centrale must therefore travel via Zurich, travelers to Olten, Bern, Aarau and Lenzburg via Brugg AG.

Further route affected by disruption

There are also restrictions on the route between Rupperswil and Lenzburg. This is interrupted until 12 p.m., as SBB announced via Twitter and on its website.

Replacement buses are now operating.
