For your "Little Horses" board game, it is important that all playing positions are in the right place. This is why you can download the model here. Print the four pages in A4 format and cut each page at the marks. Then properly glue all the pieces.

Then place the model in the middle of the wooden board and fix the corners with adhesive tape to prevent it from slipping.
On the model, a small cross indicates the center of each box. Use it to locate the boxes on the wooden board using a nail and hammer. Make sure you don't forget any boxes.

Before you can drill round holes later, you must first pre-drill all of the boxes at the exact locations you marked with the nail. Please note: press the drill only very lightly so as not to drill too deep.

Now replace the drill bit with a conical countersink or a countersink drill. You can easily mill all the boxes so that they are well rounded. Perform this step gently so as not to drill too deep holes.

A colorless “Little Horse” game cannot of course work. Paint the game board. The quickest way is to spray paint. For this variant, roughly cut out the colored boxes from the template and paste it again on the wooden board. Now just spray the right color in the right place. Alternatively, you can also use a brush. You need eight different colors in total (one color per player). Let everything dry well.

The 128 boxes are pierced? You made the most difficult! The next step is to cut out the central circle using a hole saw to create the space for the dice. To do this, make a small support with boards so that the game board no longer rests directly on the work surface. In order not to damage the edges too much when drilling, first drill on one side, but only until the tool crosses the board. This is used to fix the board before turning it over. Then turn the board over and drill the rest of the hole on the other side.

Up to eight players can play our special version of this popular family game in total, each player having three pawns. Now you have to paint the 24 pieces of the right color. For this, take the same colors as those already used on the game board.

Tip: plant the wooden balls on pins before spraying them. Then plant them in a polystyrene plate to dry them.

You certainly did not only color the holes when you sprayed the paint on the game board. It is however very easy to sand the excess paint which is next to the boxes. For the first pass, it is recommended to use a coarse abrasive sheet with a grain of 120. To obtain a completely smooth surface, you can then iron it with a finer sandpaper.

Take the opportunity to sand all the edges and the hole in the center again. Remember to protect yourself well when sanding. After sanding, the paint should only be visible at the rounded holes in the boxes. All you need now are seven other players and the fun can begin. But without riding on your big horses!
