Looking for new films and series to discover in the warm during this freezing month of February? That’s good, the streaming platforms Netflix, Disney +, Canal + (and myCanal), as well as Amazon Prime Video offer great additions to watch during the week of February 13, 2023.

This week, Digital recommend the series Django And full-swingas well as movies And (much) more if you like, As Bestas And Mission Impossible: Fallout.

Django (Canal+)

Wild West, 1860-1870. Haunted by the murder of his family eight years earlier, Django continues to search for his daughter Sarah, clinging to the hope of her survival. He finds her in New Babylon, a city of outcasts bringing together men and women of all origins, races and creeds. Now an adult, Sarah asks Django to leave, fearing that his presence will endanger the city that adopted her. Django remains inflexible: he will not take the risk of losing his daughter again…

Adaptation of the cult film by Sergio Corbucci (1966), Django is the encrypted channel’s first foray into the Western genre. And Canal+ is doing things big with an ambitious European co-production and cast (including Mathias Schoenaerts and Noomi Rapace), as well as a slick and breathless production. Signed by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli (Gomorra), this series in 10 episodes is a great success. It offers a gallery of fallible and touching characters, and a beautiful revitalization of a genre that is nevertheless worn down. From February 13 on Canal+ and its myCanal platform.

Mission Impossible: Fallout (Netflix)

In this new mission impossible, Ethan Hunt, supported by his IMF team and a few loyal allies, embarks on a race against time to save the world following a terrible mission failure.

The saga Impossible mission is like good wine: it gets better with age. An observation confirmed with this sixth film which once again brilliantly mixes political intrigue, impressive action scenes and a finely crafted plot twist. If the formula begins to be well known, it is nonetheless effective thanks to new interesting characters (hello, Henry Cavill), the ever more mind-blowing stunts of Tom Cruise and a formidable management of tension and rhythm. From February 14 on Netflix.

Their friendship will be put to the test, but can a man and a woman really be friends?

Not much to put under the irises this week for Prime Video subscribers. This sympathetic romantic comedy is the most interesting novelty, and applies above all to the charming duo Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Zoe Kazan (She Said), with a fine gallery of secondary actors (Adam Driver, Rafe Spall, Mackenzie Davis). Something to accompany singles the day after Valentine’s Day. From February 15 on Amazon Prime Video.

As Bestas (Canal+)

Olga and Antoine, a couple who have been living in Galicia for a few years, live off the land they work. Beside that, they are also restoring old mansions so that the village grows. Until the day when the arrival of wind turbines creates a conflict with their neighbours…

One of the very best films of 2022 is coming to Canal+. In line with straw dogs by Sam Peckinpah As Bestas is a thriller set in the sublime and suffocating microcosm of a Galician village, where a war of xenophobia and shattered dreams is waged. A drama sublimated by the controlled production of Rodrigo Sorogoyen (Que Dios Nos Perdone, Antidisturbios, Madre) and the score of the main cast, Marine Foïs and Denis Ménochet in the lead. A masterpiece, nothing less. From February 18 on Canal+ and the myCanal platform.
