Definitely, DJI is not reducing the airfoil. After successively launching the Mavic 3 Pro, an evolution of the Mavic 3, then the little Air 3 in mid-July, it’s the turn of the Osmo Action 4 action camera to make a remarkable arrival less than a year after the launch of the Osmo Action 3. Sports camera whose vocation is to cut cruppers to the GoPro Hero 11 Black, the Osmo Action 4 takes over the dress code and the two screens of the Osmo Action 3 (front and back), with the only distinctive sign being the red number 4 on the screen printing on the front.

Nothing distinguishes the Osmo Action 4 from the previous version, except the screen printing on the front.

In terms of measurements, the Osmo Action 4 displays a size of 70.5 x 44.2 x 32.8 mm and weighs 145 g. A weight to which it will be necessary to add the 145 g of the horizontal/vertical protection cage delivered with the two bundles offered by DJI.

The Osmo Action 4 spec sheet reports a new 10MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor (1/1.7-inch for the Osmo Action 3 and 1/1.9-inch for the Hero 11 Black). A sensor less defined than those of the Osmo Action 3 (12 Mpx) and the Hero 11 Black (27 Mpx), but with wider photosites of 2.4 microns (1.6 micron on the Osmo Action 3) . The result is wider dynamic range, better low-light performance and improved digital noise. The Osmo Action 4 will be able to produce videos in 4K up to 120 fps in 16:9 format. DJI now integrates 10-bit recording and abandons D-Cinelike mode in favor of D-Log, recently integrated into the Air 3 drone.

DJI announces progress on the battery side, with an autonomy of 2 h 30 min and a recharge time of 18 minutes to reach 80% charge.
